Motorola FX7400 Fixed RFID Reader
Easy to deploy, use, and manage,
Motorola's
FX7400 series of fixed RFID readers
is ideally suited for global enterprise deployments in space-constrained, customer-facing environments.
It boasts a compact design married with a set of highly integrated, enterprise features including:
auto-discovery and application-specific set-up for ease of installation; power over Ethernet (POE)
to eliminate the need for costly power drops; and advanced features for secure data transmission.
This unique combination makes the FX7400 series of fixed RFID readers
particularly well-suited for retail inventory and enterprise asset management applications in any environment
where performance and a small footprint are important.
New RFID reader offers business-class functionality, compact size and a new
sleek design
The Motorola FX7400
RFID Reader
sets a new standard in design for indoor customer-facing and carpeted environments, packing best-in-class RFID features into a small and attractive form factor that is less than half the size of a typical fixed industrial RFID reader. The low profile combines with an impressive array of integrated features and functionality to enable highly cost-effective RFID solutions for business class applications such as item-level inventory management, IT asset management, and more. The standards-based device integrates easily into your existing technology environment and delivers superior performance as well as simplified management. The flexibility to support your needs now and in the future combines with a low cost per read point to provide superior value —investment protection and a low total cost of ownership (TCO).
With the FX7400, Motorola now offers a more robust portfolio with the XR series of RFID readers serving industrial environments, and the FX series of RFID readers serving business class environments.
Easy to use, deploy and manage
The FX7400 is easy to mount — the reader simply snaps into the supplied bracket. ShowCase II, a new remote configuration and management tool, greatly simplifies deployment. An auto discovery function helps detect devices once they are plugged into the
network; pre-defined configuration files simplify setup for various applications and environments and a testing tool allows you to ensure that your FX7400 readers are up, running and ready to put into operation. Integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) eliminates the need to run power to the FX7400 — ideal in the large open common areas in retail storefronts. LLRP (low level reader protocol) support enables seamless integration and interoperability with your existing IT infrastructure, including wireless LANs and standard middleware, such as IBM WebSphere and Microsoft BizTalk. The ability to host third party applications not only simplifies application deployment, but also enables customization of applications to best meet business needs today and tomorrow.
Rapid Return on Investment (ROI) and a Low TCO
The FX7400 provides big business benefits by providing effortless real-time accurate inventory visibility — and a superior TCO. A choice of either two or four monostatic ports allows you to purchase only what you need, optimizing capital costs. The
integrated optically isolated General Purpose Input/
Output (GPIO) interface eliminates the need to purchase, install and manage additional hardware.
A flexible radio architectures minimizes the complexity
of multinational deployments and simplifies the technology solution architecture in distributed environments. Integrated PoE support provides a substantial cost savings up to $1000 per electrical drop. And centralized remote management tools significantly reduce IT management time and cost.
